No you do not.
Lomi Lomi is one style of massage that requires little draping and lots of fluid motions. Strokes will begin at the foot and end at the glute (butt) or continue all the way up the side of the body to the hand.
However, you will know in advance if this is the massage you are getting. You would select it from the menu the same way you would a swedish or deep tissue.
During a traditional massage (swedish, deep tissue, prenatal etc.) you undress to your comfort level which includes keeping on or taking off your underwear.
Either way you will be covered by a sheet in New York because no drape massages are illegal here.
But can I leave my bra on during a massage?
When it comes to your bra staying on while working on your back we can either do compressions or work around the straps. This depends on your therapist.
As your massage therapist I will ask if it is okay that I unclasp it to work on your back and let you know that I will be place it back when finished. It is your right to say yes or no to this question.
Unfortunately, not every massage therapist in NYC or just licensed massage therapist in general will ask prior to shimmying down your underwear to access your glutes or lower back.
But at least when you get a massage with Healedbyparis you can be sure that consent is always asked for. Massage is such an intimate experience that to make you comfortable and create a safe space -- its important that you aren't caught off guard by any movement, stretch, or touch.
In conclusion
You can always try a clothing opted massage like shiatsu or thai as well. That takes all the guessing out of whether or not removing your bra or underwear will be a thing that makes you second guess getting a massage.
