If possible dress comfortable and in something you can easily take off and put back on.
Every massage therapist is different in how they approach you getting on the table. For example I will talk with you before the session and then i'll tell you to lay face down (or up) on the table and under the sheet.
At that point I step out of the room for sake of your privacy and I'll stay close to the room because one thing that I hate the most about getting massages at other massage spa's in NYC is getting undressed and being left in a room by myself for entirely too long.
You become hyperaware of the noises, people outside in the space, and really to the fact that you undressed with a sheet covering you.
What if i'm coming from work?
Then you have work clothes on and that's fine. Just keep in mind that some clinics or massage spa's will give you a 60 minute session that is exactly 60 minutes.
Meaning that if it takes you 10 minutes to get undressed now your massage is anywhere from 45-50 minutes long. Some places will factor in the 5 minutes that it may take you to get off the massage table.
When I work with clients doing mobile house calls in NYC or in a massage suite I try to give you guys the full slot that you booked.
If you show up 10 minutes early that means I can you get you on the table sooner. Thus if you booked from 10am to 11am you get a full 60 minute session. I will not end it until the 11am mark.
Can I wear perfume or cologne to get a massage?
You can but its suggested not to. We spend a lot of time very close to your body. Sometimes inhaling scents constantly can irritate our sinuses.
But keep in mind the best massage therapist in NYC will not make you feel bad during the session because of it.
If needed it will be brought up at the end of the session to help the next, this depends on who treats you when you book your massages in NYC or really anywhere.
CONCLUSION
Massage is a great thing to make time for and every massage therapist works differently. The more you know the easier it is to prepare for your massage.
Feel free to contact us if you have any questions and we look forward to booking you for a massage, let's create a safe space for you.
